Remembering Chris Todd Zimmerman

One of my friend's son passed away. We spent a week on the upper Grand Canyon rafting trip together. I was the rookie in the rustic environment, Chris was a seasoned camper. My friend Connie told me: "please don't get depressed. Chris lived a good life and the best death. I'm at peace." I'm glad Chance, the family dog, stayed with Chris when he fell. Rest in peace - Chris, you will be remembered.

Teddy went to the groomer.

A month behind schedule, sorry Teddy, Mom was busy. I take him to a school of grooming where it's significantly cheaper. I'm very good at stretching a dollar (probably the result of raising 2 chilren on the North Shore single handedly) and will share my finds. If you're interested in the contact info, just email me. I'm happy to share my thrifty finds. Since I have this forum, I'll continue to add tips to help people make ends meet.

2 days after the election - I'm still sore from all of the standing.

I was up at 4:30 am installing signs at the the Moraine Township polling places on Election Day. After that I was at HPHS greeting voters letting them know about me, since I am on the 2nd page of the ballot all the way at the bottom. People ask what does the Lake County Board do? (I get that a lot). I stood for 13 hours at HPHS and at Red Oak School, (my Dad who is nearly 80 stood at Lincoln School) greeting voters letting them know who I am and letting them know what I bring to the table. I bring 16 years Fortune 100 IT experience. Large infrastructure knowledge, I used to take care of 2 UPS' so I know how diesel engines should work. Six Sigma Green Belt. B.S. Physics. 12 years in communications which I realized was a huge selling point after going to the August meeting (the only one in this race who has actually been to a meeting), especially since we need to swap out the emergency radio system in 2017, I would be a perfect fit for that subcommittee. There were 4 issues I could help with right off the bat. (I knew I was in the right place.) One issue we (Lake County) ended up spending more money as a result of lack of expertise on the board. I thought this community values education and relevant work experience? Solid work experience that will save money thereby reducing our taxes which would be a win for everyone.

Mrs. Jennings Memorial at St. James Church.

Vincenza took care of my children at Highland Park Nursery and Day Care 20 years ago. I visited with her grandchildren and her daughter letting them know how grateful I was that Jennings was there for my children. She will be missed. Something's are ore important than a campaign.

Mrs. Jennings passed away - lovely woman, so grateful she took care of my children.

My view on Endorsements.

My opponent seems to think it's everything, but the fact is several people on his list tell me they endorsed prior to anyone else being in the race. Ray Geraci is an example of this. In fact Ray was one of the first to contribute to my campaign. One of my larger donors is the Chairman of the Lake County Board - David Stolman, this is a key relationship expecially if we need to get things done at the County. If you take note, my opponent is always the first to endorse anyone, because he expects the reciprocal endorse back. Endorsements can mean something, but in his case probably not.

My view on Bees.

A voter asked my view on bees, as it happens my family kept bees from the age of 3 - 8. We lived in a residential neighborhood and we coexisted without incident. I am pro bee and would encourage anyone to keep bees, especially since they are dying off. Bees provide a valuable service to us an we need them.
Thank you to the Irish couple who brought me coffee while I was at early voting. I was there prior to opening and stayed until they closed. Not only do I have rock solid credentials, I'm hardy as well. Laura for Lake County ... the better choice.

"your other daughter voted for you! Yay!

And yes she took a picture too! (She's glad to be out of NYC where there is no hot water). My Mom was finally able to complete the ballot. My sister Cathy voted weeks ago. My Dad voted earlier this week - well I have at least 5 votes so far. I'm the only one in my family who hasn't voted - I'll do that on Election Day. Laura for Lake County ... the better choice.

  Voted for you mom.

Moraine Township has a food pantry.

Today while I was at early voting a woman confided in me that she was hungry. No one in this country should go without food. There is plenty of help out there you just need to seek it out. Thank you to the woman who gave me her gloves today - it helped. Remember Laura for Lake County!

Highwood's Pumpkin Fest preparation

My friend Bill cleaned out pumpkins for 13 hours in the last week. He also carved a few dozen pumpkins, he lost count. I gave bracelets to my neighbors who carved a total of 146 (Chris - 40, Gabriel - 20. Kevin - 86.) I wasn't able to carve due to work commitments but I got my neighbors to make up for me.

Here's a picture of the pie line, I'm on the right. I had another picture taken with Jonathan of HGTV's "Property Brothers" and "Buying & Selling". (I wish he'd come to my house). We were the lucky recipients of 3 pumpkin pies after they made the world record.

League of Women Voters Debate, Lake Forest High School

My opponent was unaware that there was redisricting last year that essentially jerry-rigged the outcome. He answered after he listened to the responses of five others me being the first. At the end of his comment he joked - that he didn't even know about this.

Second Candidate Enters County Board Race

Laura Lambrecht filed to run as the Republican candidate for Lake County Board.
She will be opposing City Councilman Steve Mandel

Laura Lambrecht filed to run as the Republican candidate

Putting you first

Lambrecht for Lake County Board common sense with the people’s common goals

Your neighbor wants to work for you. I’m not running for office, I’m running for you.

My mission is to maintain our quality of life in our region and do it in a fiscally responsible manner. In other words: I'd like better bang for our tax dollars.

Let's put my real world experience to good use and find ways to save our dollars, just like we do in business.

On the Issues...

Advocate for Property Tax Relief
Rising Property taxes are unsustainable. We need leadership in Springfield, the County and at the local level to provide residents with property tax relief.

Protect our Environment
District 11 sits next to our most important natural resource - Lake Michigan. We must protect our environment, preserve land and expand recycling initiatives.

Ease Traffic Gridlock
Time spent in traffic is time spent away from our friends and family. We need to continue to invest in insfrastructure and public transportation.
